Greetings from beautiful Asheville, North Carolina,
It is exciting to see how God leads as we continue to pursue our vision of equipping young people in Ghana with the knowledge and skills they need to become successful, God-honoring entrepreneurs. Several months ago we made some new contacts and began exploring a shared vision and possible partnership with the Global Poultry Initiative. (www.globalpoultry.org)
GPI is currently working in a handful of African countries to train and equip local farmers in sustainable poultry production, and using that as a conduit for sharing the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This method meshes very well with the vision of Fields of Hope, and we are excited about the possibilities it presents. We are hopeful that the program and teaching of GPI can complement the resources that we currently have on the farm, and we’re tentatively planning to do an “exploratory trip” with GPI sometime in the spring of 2017.
As I write this, we’ve just finished day one of a week of training here in Asheville on reaching and impacting people, specifically through small scale farming. The interaction has been beneficial as we learn more about the goals and vision of GPI.
Please PARTNER WITH US in prayer during this week. We are seeking God’s perfect will for the Ghana farm and the people we are reaching.
